Rehabilitation and Sanctuary

The Nurture Nature Campaign wishes to empower the El Socorro Centre for Wildlife Conservation (ESCWC) and the Corbin Local Wildlife Park (CLWP) as the seek to care for injured and human-habituated wild animals.

The ESCWC is now building the first wildlife hospital in the Caribbean. You can find their Go Fund Me here.

The CLWP is developing new habitat for the release and propagation of native species. You can find their Go Fund Me here.

Documentaries on Wildlife Trade

Some aspects of the harmful pet wildlife trade in Trinidad, Tobago, and the wider Caribbean may be best communicated through documentary filmmaking. The Nurture Nature Campaign seeks to create at least two short documentaries to support education at local schools and social dialogue via submission at local and international festivals.

Expanded Research on the Pet Trade

To date, the Nurture Nature Campaign has conducted research to understand the trade in living undomesticated birds, mammals, and reptiles. This leaves a variety of animal groups unaccounted for in our research. We hope to change this with expanded activities to better understand trades in amphibians, corals, fish, and plants, which have been found to be associated with substantial harms elsewhere.
